The Aquaculture department participated in the first ever Coral Festival held on Friday 26th April 2024 at the Camion Hall. In the festival, the department showcased some of the species that they rear at their facility such as the Snubnose pompano, the Sea urchin, the Sea cucumber, the Mud crab, and others. This attracted many people especially the students who not only showed interests on the species but also in the work being done by the department.
The festival that was celebrated under the theme, ‘Celebrating the colours of the sea’, was sensitizing the public on the various projects and initiatives being done for the protection and restoration of the coral reefs and the marine ecosystems.
Other institutions and departments were also present to show their support which included pledges, among others.
