Amina Antat
Aquaculture Planning and Development Officer
A little bit about Amina
I have spent approximately 1 year as an Aquaculture Planning and Development Officer and until now my experience within the Aquaculture department has been utterly satisfying. I was able to gain new skills and also accumulate a great deal of knowledge. As the Aquaculture Planning and Development Officer, my main responsibility is to assist with the implementation of the aquaculture sector development plan. This includes activities such as the identification and acquisition of land which can be used for sectoral support and the continuous monitoring and promotion of the Seychelles National Aquaculture Policy.
What are your goals for the future?
At present, I am focused on learning and acquiring new skills until I am ready to take on a more prominent role within the aquaculture section. My long-term goal is to build a career with the Seychelles Fishing Authority, as this will allow me to contribute towards the development of the new aquaculture sector. I believe that the new sector has the potential of becoming one of the pillars of our economy. It will be a great honour to have been a part of its establishment, since the creation of a new sector will bring Seychelles one step closer towards its goal of achieving economic diversification.
