The Seychelles Fishing Authority through the Oceans5 Project has recruited a consultant(s) to conduct a stock assessment of the mud crab (Scylla serrata) population on Mahé, Praslin, and Silhouette. The consultant will also assess the fishery of the mangrove crab. The overall objective of the consultancy is to help SFA determine whether or not mud crabs can be sustainably exploited for future mariculture development, such as fattening in Seychelles, and if there is a need to regulate the fishery.
